Welcome to the Havelock-Cherry point Rotary Club! Chartered October 21, 1980, the Havelock –Cherry Point Club currently has 22 members of the finest business and service people in the community. This club is about fun, friendship, and helping those in need both in our community and around the world. At a weekly meeting, one will immediately realize that the Havelock-Cherry Point Rotary Club members are people who make a difference through the principles of service above self, understanding, and goodwill.
Dedicated to improving lives in the Havelock-Cherry Point area, the club has supported a number of community initiatives such as the Wounded Warrior Program, Intern Mountain Therapy Reading Education Assistance (R.E.A.D) program, the Boys and Girls Club of Havelock Cherry Point, Havelock High School Interact Club, and Annunciation Catholic Middle School Interact Club. This year, Havelock-Cherry Point Rotary Club plans to continue to build its current programs and add new members as we look forward for opportunities to support this year’s Rotary International theme of “Reaching Within to Embrace Humanity.”
Rotarians practice a 4-Way Test that measures words and actions by their truthfulness, fairness, goodwill, and benefit to all. Encouraging high ethical standards in one’s profession and respect for all worthy vocations has been a hallmark of Rotary from its earliest days.
If you have the passion to make a difference in the lives of others, please join us at one of our meetings held every Thursday morning at 7:30 A.M. at the Cherry Point United Methodist Church. The fellowship formed in Rotary will last a lifetime.
Yours in Rotary,

Welcome to the Havelock-Cherry point Rotary Club! Chartered October 21, 1980, the Havelock –Cherry Point Club currently has 23 members of the finest business and service people in the community. This club is about fun, friendship, and helping those in need both in our community and around the world. At a weekly meeting, one will immediately realize that the Havelock-Cherry Point Rotary Club members are people who make a difference through the principles of service above self, understanding, and goodwill.

Dedicated to improving lives in the Havelock-Cherry Point area, the club has supported a number of community initiatives such as the Wounded Warrior Program, Intern Mountain Therapy Reading Education Assistance (R.E.A.D) program, coins for Alzheimer’s Research (CART FUND), Boys and Girls Club of Havelock Cherry Point, Havelock High School Interact Club, and Annunciation Catholic Middle School Interact Club. This year, Havelock-Cherry Point Rotary Club plans to continue to build its current programs and add new members as we look forward for opportunities to support this year’s Rotary International theme of “Peace Through Service.” In Rotary, our business is not profit. Our business is peace. Our reward is not money, but the happiness and satisfaction of seeing a better, more peaceful world-one that achieved through our own efforts.

In this Rotary year, I ask you to put Peace Through Service at the forefront of your Rotary work. I hope you understand that peace, in all of the ways that we can understand it, is a real goal and a realistic goal for Rotary. Peace is not something that can only be achieved through treaties, by governments, or through heroic struggles. It is something that we can find and that we can achieve, every day and in many simple ways.

To me, Service Above Self is more than just a motto. It is a way of life-one that will make any life richer and more meaningful. This is the wish also and words of the Rotary International President 2012-2013 Mr. Sakuji Tanaka which I have embraced as the President of Havelock Cherry Point Rotary 2012-2013.   And I realize by helping others, even in the simplest of ways, I could help to build peace.  And so I ask you all to commit to a Rotary year of Peace Through Service-and a Rotary goal of a more peaceful world.

If you have the passion to make a difference in the lives of others, please join us at one of our meetings held every Thursday morning at 7:30 A.M. at the Cherry Point United Methodist Church. The fellowship formed in Rotary will last a lifetime.
